Course Rating Limit Increased for Score Posting

GHIN released into production the ability for a golfer to post an 18-hole score to a course which has a Course Rating of 85.0 and below. With longer courses and the need to rate tees from the back for ladies this was an important update which needed to be made to allow golfers to properly post their scores. Scores can be posted by either selecting the Course Ratings through a search method or by manually entering the data.

Please note: A golfer posting a 9-hole score will still be restricted to Course Ratings between 20.0 – 40.0. In addition, no changes were made to GHP Client.

2014 Annual GHIN Association Survey

The 2014 GHIN Association survey is now open for comments. The survey will be open until Friday, October 31 for your input. Your participation is a critical element to the future direction of GHIN’s products and services.

The survey may be filled out by multiple staff members at the association or under one collective set of responses for the association. The survey has been condensed with the removal of product satisfaction and priority questions asked previously by the Deloitte team during their customer strategy research efforts.  All collective feedback will be used to inform the replatforming project that is in progress.

Please ensure the individuals that have the most interaction with GHIN products or staff have the opportunity to share their thoughts on the 2014 year.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. You may review the questions HERE prior to going online and filling out the survey.

Thank you for your time and participation in this important project.

TPP Club – Add Players From Club Roster

This evening GHIN will be releasing an updated version of the Administration module of the TPP Club web application.  This update is centered around an enhanced version of “Add Players from Club Roster” and the consolidation of menu options aimed to enhance and simplify the user experience.

The Add Players From Club Roster function is now part of our “Add Player and Player Management” page. To access this new modal form, click the down-arrow associated with the Search function and you will see the option to “Add Players From Club Roster”.

Add Club Roster

Once selected, the new modal form will appear and your club roster will be loaded automatically based on tournament gender and the access level of the user login.  Other notable enhancements to this functionality:

  • “Search” – searches by last name utilizing the “begins with” functionality
  • “Click and Drag” – allows multiple golfer selection
  • “Hide/Show Columns” – allows the user to customize the information that is displayed within the modal form
  • “Save Changes” button is anchored to the modal form so that it is always quickly accessible
  • “Select / Deselect All” – allows the user to select or unselected all players is grid based on filter/sort or search
  • “Entered in Tournament” toggle – allows user to see what existing members that have already been added to the event

Add Club Roster 1

The menu consolidation area was limited to Players and Teams menu options.  The objective was to highlight in those menus the most needed functionality with the rest of the capabilities being located in the additional fly-out menus.

Lastly we addressed some items previously reported:

  • Fixed Round Robin / Match Play Issue with Creating Matches (Shotgun) – There were multiple issues affecting this wizard which all seemed to be linked to the user action of returning to previous rounds and then moving forward through the rounds.
  • Rapid Team Entry – Data Table Warning was received when the browser window resized prior to creating a Team Group.  The Browser window can be resized without receiving the ‘Data Tables Warning’ message prior to creating a Team Group.
  • Add Player / Player Management – Search on Tournament Roster now uses a Last Name ‘begins with’ type search where search results will yield only Last Names that meet the search criteria entered.
  • Add Player / Player Management – Search criteria in the ‘Search on Tournament Roster’ field was not being cleared when another transaction was initiated.  The application now properly clears the search criteria field when another transaction is initiated, i.e., selecting a different tournament.

***************** UPDATE ******************

GHIN will be deploying the “Auto-Renew” functionality into production for eClubhouse/eGolfer the morning of Monday, October 6th, 2014.

As a result,, eClubhouse and eGolfer will be down for approximately 1 hour.  This will also impact widgets on association sites for Score Posting and Handicap Lookup.  We will post a message on during the downtime.

The Association & Club User Guides have been updated and posted to the USGA InfoPortal in the “Documents–>eGolfer/eClubhouse” folder.

Steps to Deploy the Auto-Renew Functionality:

1) Monday 10/6/2014 (2 am EST) – Auto-Renew code will be deployed to production.  All eClubhouse sites will default to Auto-Renew “OFF”.

2) Tuesday 10/7/2014 (6pm EST) –  “Renewal Reminder” and “Auto-Renew” services will be started.

3)Wednesday 10/8/2014 (6pm EST) – This will be the first possible day/time that Auto-Renew would officially run.

Note: Auto-Renew will occur the night before the Membership Period End Date.  For example, if the Membership Period End Date is 10/9/2014 for a club, their golfers will be Auto-renewed on the night of 10/8.

Please note, in order for any members to renew at all (whether manually or via Auto-Renew) clubs need to setup an upcoming Membership Period to renew to!

eClubs that are accepting payments via Credit Card in “Manage Commerce Gateway” will now be able to setup “Automatic Billing (Auto-Renew)“.  Once Auto-Renew is turned on, golfers within the club can choose to have their membership Auto-Renew each year by enabling it in their profile.

Club Setup: Auto-Renew defaults to unchecked.  To setup Auto-Renew, the club admin would go to the Admin section of their eClubhouse site and then click on “Manage Commerce Gateway”.  If a commerce provider is setup to allow payments by Credit Card, the “Enable Automatic Billing (Auto-Renew)” check box will display.  If not, the feature will not be available.

In-activation’s on GHIN start at 12am every day and continues every three hours throughout the day.  With this in mind, eClubhouse will auto-renew golfers the night before the inactivation is set to occur t 6:00 p.m. (EST).  So, if your “Membership Period End” date is set to 10-31-2014 in “Manage Membership Periods and Levels,” eClubhouse will Auto-Renew the golfers marked as such on the evening of the 30th.

Golfer Setup: Once the club has enabled Auto-Renew, golfers will be able to opt-in to use the functionality.  During the registration process the auto-renew box defaults to checked.  Existing eGolfers can turn auto-renew on or off via by clicking on the “To edit eCommerce Credit Card Information, please click here” link in Edit Profile.  From there they can turn the setting on and off for all member clubs that they have setup credit card information.
