Web Reports v2.2 – Maintenance Release

GHIN will be pushing a maintenance release which will address all known issues identified since the release the latest version of Web Reports v2.2.  Most of these items were related to how the new functionality affected “Scheduled Reports”.  GHIN will have this release in production prior to the October 1, 2013 revision as the largest percentage of scheduled reports are set to be delivered on revision days.

Specific items addressed:

  1. Addressed the issue affecting the ability to edit existing scheduled reports where it was not saving changes made to the report causing the user to have to delete the report and create a new scheduled report.
  2. Addresses the issue where scheduled reports were failing. This issue affected the HI/CH Report when we added the ability to display a 9-hole CH value for 18-hole golfers.
  3. GHIN addressed the server error message received when clicking on the “View Details” option for a scheduled HI/CH Report.  The issue was caused by the same underlying issue as #2.
  4. GHIN fixed the sorting issue on the HI/CH report.  The issue occurred when the Handicap Index sort option was chosen, the Total Differential value should have been used to sort when consecutive golfers had the same Handicap Index.

GHIN will send out a notification when these issues are moved to production.

2013 GHIN Users’ Meeting Invitation

We are pleased to invite you to the 30th GHIN Users’ Meeting to be held on Thursday, November 7, through Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.

With the scheduling of GUM preceding the IAGA meeting, we hope this will be an opportunity for additional staff to be exposed to GHIN services. Although the schedule does support the core functions offered through GHP and TPP, there is an emphasis on how your association can promote itself utilizing GHIN products and services.

Please make your hotel arrangements as soon as possible. Room reservations may be made online (be sure to enter the group code 22W718 when booking). The meetings will be held in the Baytowne Conference center which is located closest the rooms at the Grand Sandestin. Note, for those who might want to stay beachside the winter tram schedule is from 10 am – 10 pm. Room prices can be found on the previous blog post.

IMPORTANT: For those attending both GUM and IAGA you will need to call the resort directly at (800) 277-0800 and let them know you will be attending both conferences. This will allow you to remain in the same room during both meetings under the appropriate room block.

You must make your reservations prior to October 6, 2013 after which time they will be honored on a space and rate availability basis only.

The closest airport to the resort is Northwest Florida Regional Airport (airport code VPS) located 30 miles north of the resort. Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional Airport (airport code PNS) is located about 65 miles west of the resort. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City (airport code ECP) is located about 40 miles east of the resort.

Transportation can be arranged by contacting Sunshine Shuttle & Limousine at (866) 650-6333 or online. Use the group code USGA for preferred pricing. We also have a discount rate with Avis Rent-A-Car. The Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number for this offer is X375250 and reservations can be made online.

Registration will take place between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm on Thursday in the Baytowne Conference Center. As we have done in the past, there will be optional sessions for those interested in an introduction or refresher course on GHP Online or TPP Online programs. The Opening General Session will then be held from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, followed immediately by the Welcome Reception for all GHIN Users’ Meeting attendees and their guests.

Although there will be a closing luncheon on Saturday, November 9, we have scheduled some additional optional sessions on Saturday afternoon for participants who have a later flight home or for those arriving early for the start of the IAGA conference on Sunday. Please indicate on your registration if you will be attending any of these optional classes. Accordingly, if you are only able to attend the Saturday afternoon sessions, please mark Open for the sessions that you will not be in attendance.

Once again, we will be happy to schedule a GHIN staff member to meet with association representatives to discuss specific topics.  Please select the Computer Lab period during your registration and fill out the appropriate section of the online registration indicating the topic you would like to cover.  We will confirm your appointment following the close of registration.

The tentative agenda below is subject to slight changes based on upcoming development initiatives. As we get closer to November an updated agenda will be available for registrants. You will not be required to attend a class you initially signed up for should there be a change in the sessions and you would like to attend a different breakout class.

Online registration is available now and we ask that each person attending the meeting complete the form. The deadline for registration is Friday, October 18, 2013

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Fran Nee at (800) 940-8535, x1837 or via e-mail at fnee@usga.org.

We look forward to seeing everyone in sunny Florida!

Annual GHIN Association Member Club Survey

As GHIN has done in the past, we will be sending out postcards to your member clubs asking for their feedback on GHIN products and services. The postcards will be mailed the week of September 16, 2013. The survey will be conducted online and will take approximately 5-10 minutes to answer all questions, including comments.

Club officials will be directed to the link, http://clubsurvey.ghin.com to complete their responses. The survey will be open until Sunday, October 6, 2013. You can view the survey questions here, 2013 Association Member Club Survey.

We ask your assistance in forwarding this information on to the appropriate officials at your golf clubs through your website or email blast. This survey enables your golf clubs to voice their opinions, ideas, and concerns not only about GHIN products but on your association service to them as well.

For those associations that do not have email blast capabilities, GHIN has created a news template which can be used to email club officials regarding the survey. Your association would simply have to supply an email address file of recipients. If you would like to send an email out to club officials, please contact Lisa Gooley for further details, lgooley@usga.org.  You may also find the template on the InfoPortal if you would like to use it to send an email on your own (GHIN–>General Information–>”Annual GHIN Club Survey Blog.doc”).

Your association will be provided the results of the survey so you can assess your clubs wants and needs for future planning.

Together we can continue to provide the best service and GHIN products to your member clubs.

GHP Enhancements and Fixes

Following up on the recent GHP changes, we have released two more requested enhancements and corrected a few issues with Web Reports and GHP Client passwords.

GHP Enhancements

  • Guest Score Posting is now available in GHP Club Rapid Score Entry.
  • In preparation for adding short tee name on Web Reports, GHP Association now supports short tee name entry. This can be accessed through Home Courses and selecting Tees or through CRP to GHP Course Mapping Management and selecting Tees after locating desired course.

Tee Short Name

Fixes

  • The Scores Posted report has been corrected so column information is not overlapping.  In addition, the export now reflects the requested data.
  • The Round Count number in the Scores Posted report is based on the dates selected in the report, not automatically the calendar year.
  • The Shaft Labels report has been corrected to properly fit margins when printing. A document has been created for associations and golf clubs to help configure the browser correctly to print Shaft Labels. You can find the document in the InfoPortal (GHIN–>Documents–>GHP Online Club) or for your convenience click this link: Printing Shaft Labels through a Web Browser
  • When using GHP Association, if a club is set to use GHP Client under GHP Type, the Club Password access is grayed out. The Club Password in GHP Client is to be generated from the client.

If you have any questions please contact GHIN tech support at (800) 940-8535 x1 or ghinsupport@usga.org.

New DOD Server and Interface

Thanks to everyone for your patience as we installed a new server for Data on Demand and migrated your existing reports. The new server has been put in place and DOD is once again fully operational. The website address as well as your login credentials will remain the same.

After installation, internal testing on the new server showed improved performance and response times when running existing association reports.

Once logged in, the home page will have a very similar look and feel for the display of your reports with minor changes. Under the Actions column to the far right is where you will find the ability to Modify, Rename, Copy, Move or Delete any reports.

DOD Reports

The interface now provides a friendlier  wizard like approach when designing new reports. This will guide the user along in selecting the data to mine, column configuration and finally sorting and filtering options.

DOD Wizard

A webinar has been scheduled for Monday, September 9 at 2:00 pm ET to demonstrate the new interface and wizard driven creation of new reports. GHIN will also offer tips on creating new reports or editing existing reports to better organize your data to get the results you want.

For those unable to participate, the session will be recorded and posted to the USGA Info Portal for review.

If you have any questions please contact GHIN tech support at (800) 940-8535 x1 or ghinsupport@usga.org.
