GHIN Mobile App – New Release for iOS

GHIN is pleased to announce that a new release of the GHIN Mobile App for iOS devices has been published to the App Store and is now available for downloading.

This release includes the following enhancements:

  • The look and feel is improved with updated controls and smoother page transitions.
  • Users can set up and manage a list of Favorite Courses via the Settings page.  Favorite Courses can be selected during score posting and course handicap calculations.
  • Users can set up and manage a list of playing Partners via the Settings page.  Users select from Partners when calculating partner handicaps and can also select a Partner when viewing scoring stats.  On the Stats page tap on the golfer’s name to select a Partner and see stats for that Partner.
  • The Partner Handicaps page has been redesigned and is much simpler.  Course handicaps can now be calculated for up to 5 partners and the app remembers those partners from session to session.  The entire process of adding partners for a match and selecting a course and tee is now managed from one page.
  • Tournament registration now passes username and password on to TPP Online, so that an app user is logged in to the tournament registration site.
  • The app is Trend Handicap-enabled.  In a few weeks after GHIN web services have been released, the Scores – Recent view will show a golfer’s Trend.  Other views, like Scores – Revision will continue to show latest handicap index.

Please encourage your members to post their reviews of the GHIN Mobile App at the App Store.  We, of course, particularly appreciate glowing reviews!  Complaints or requests for new features can be sent to ghinmobile@usga.org.

The Android version of the GHIN Mobile App is in testing and will be released soon.

TPP Club Launch

TPP Club Splash

http://tpp.ghin.com

We are pleased to announce the release of TPP Online for Clubs!

TPP Club is your member clubs online tournament solution. As many of you already know TPP Club was built on the same platform as TPP Association. With the solid, stable environment in place we are able to offer all key TPP Association functionality for your club’s use. TPP Club consists of four components:  Administration, Golfer Registration, Scoring and Clubhouse Viewer (TB launched).

In order to get started you will need to have GHIN create an association user account. You can contact tech support at (800) 940-8535 x1 or email your request to ghinsupport@usga.org. When contacting GHIN regarding this process, please provide all of the following information to ensure that we setup you TPP Club instance properly:

  • Your association name and number
  • Names of what other association your clubs are combined with (if any)
  • Association admin user name and password
  • First and last name and email address of default association admin contact

Once there is one association level account created, additional user accounts can be created by the association as desired.

The association can begin to add club sites at their own discretion. TPP Client will continue to be supported in its current platform so there is no need to push TPP Club out to all member clubs immediately. It is recommended that associations roll the product out slowly to a few clubs at a time. This will allow the association staff supporting TPP Club to become more knowledgeable on its features and for you to gather feedback from your clubs. For best results, we recommend clubs use Firefox as the default browser for TPP Club.

As clubs begin using this product for their varied tournaments, we expect to receive feedback and questions. To facilitate this feedback and quick response from our team, we have created a dedicated email address to gather association and club feedback on TPP Club. Comments provided will allow us to evaluate initial perception of the end user, the expected results and to make changes accordingly. Please forward your responses to tppclub@usga.org. Associations may pass this email address on to the clubs for them to provide direct commentary.

In addition, please contact tech support immediately should you encounter an error in the program. It will be helpful to know what club you are working in, what event you are working in, and what you are trying to accomplish when the error occurs.

The following documentation is available on the USGA Info Portal in assisting you and your clubs with the transition to TPP Club. The documents can be found on the GHIN tab, Documents in the TPP Online Club folder. Associations may use any of the documents and brand for association specifications before sending out to your member clubs.

  • TPP Club Quick Start Guide
  • Association Adding a Club to TPP Club
  • Exporting and Importing Tournaments from TPP Client to TPP Club
  • Exporting and Importing Reports from TPP Client to TPP Club
  • Exporting and Importing Score Cards from TPP Client to TPP Club
  • eCommerce information using NMI

In addition to the above documentation we will continue to schedule webinars on the other main components of TPP Club (Golfer Registration, Scoring Results and Clubhouse Viewer), add supporting documentation and create shorter videos associations will have access to use in training club officials. A schedule of training classes will be provided shortly.

You can  view the TPP Club introduction webinar, or access the file from the USGA Info Portal.
